Work With Angela Goens, MS, RDN, LD

Just a Dietitian is working with clients to explore their relationship with food in connection with their bodies as they navigate systems of oppression.

A non-dieting approach to changing your eating habits

If you choose me as your dietitian, I will walk alongside you to help explore your past and present relationship with food to improve your future relationship with food, so you don’t feel trapped.

All foods are allowed, and there are no “good” or “bad” foods.

My entire career has been dedicated to working within the eating disorders and mental health fields. After working in these fields for a few years, I decided to complete advanced education in counseling to understand better how trauma can affect the body and brain of individuals who struggle with disordered eating patterns. Working in various levels of eating disorder treatment has given me great exposure to the entire continuum of care. It has also provided me with great opportunities to be part of some very collaborative, interdisciplinary teams.

Human beings can use disordered behaviors with food as one way to cope with stressors and navigate life. My goal is to help clients explore and restore a mindful relationship with food. I do this with years of experience, education, and understanding by using a whole-person, weight-inclusive, body-positive lens. Some areas of interest and training include eating disorders, diabetes, disordered eating, chemical dependency, and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). I encourage people of all identities to seek care with any challenges they may be struggling with around food and intentionally invite individuals who identify as BIPOC to reach out for any support needed.
